Richard Hallman – Advisory Board member, Master Gardner and Arborist – will show you how to:
- Read the condition of your apple and pear trees
- Estimate the amount of fruit has been produced in past years
- How to evaluate the potential crop for 2014.
You will learn how apple and pear trees grow and how they react to pruning and training.
You will also learn techniques and tricks you can use to improve the amount and quality of the fruit they produce in years to come.
You will leave this workshop knowing a step by step process that you can follow when pruning your own trees – a great way to overcome the fear of pruning.
You will experience the process of evaluating apple and pear trees, determining what need to be done through to the finished fully pruned trees.
This workshop will take place in the garden or one of our VTFP tree owners – Saturday November 16th at 10am.
