Volunteer Sign-Up

Picker | Fruit Pickers attend picks to harvest fruit in a small team. Our Coordinator sends out an email when a pick is available and you can respond to the email to attend as it suits your schedule.

Fruit Rescue Lead | Fruit Rescue Leads (formerly known as Pick Leaders) take on more responsibility and get more involved in the picking process from start to finish. They are in charge of leading picks, which includes picking up and dropping off equipment for the pick, ensuring a safe and fun environment, and delivering the harvest to our Community Partner. Fruit Rescue Leads are the faces of VFTP as they interact the most with our Community Partners as well as with our volunteer Pickers. This position requires some training (provided at the beginning of the season), as well as requires signing up for a Modo account (for transportation).

Outreach | Outreach volunteers attend community events to table with a fellow volunteer or board member and engage the public around our mission. It’s a fun way to meet others on the team, check out local community events, and spread the word!

Other | We’d love to be a space where you can use your individual skills and strengths, whether that’s guest blogging, hosting a workshop, designing materials, or creating videos.
